Friday Fragments 3-29-13

 

1. I can't believe it's already almost April! 2013 is flying by faster than ever!  We have so MANY things going on between now and June! I can't wait to share them all with you!

2. First and foremost I'm super excited that it's almost time for Texas School! This is a week long intense training for photographers in Dallas for those with limited photographic experience all the way to those who are professional photographers who want advanced training.  I'm super excited to meet new people and become a better and  more confident photographer. I'm sure I'll will have several blog posts about Texas School to share with you when I get back. 

3. I'm a not a confident person at all by nature. I really want to become more confident. Any ideas, tips, suggestions on how to do this? 

4. My mom recently had a titanium rod put in her leg. The rod runs from her knee to her ankle. Thanks to all of you who prayed for my mom during the surgery. She's slowly but surely on the road to recovery. Please keep her and my father in your prayers.

Simple Woman's Daybook 3/20/13

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...storm clouds coming through. One of the last cold fronts of the year is blowing through.

I am thinking...I am going to enjoy this cool air while it lasts.

I am thankful...My amazing husband. He's so loving, patient, caring and overall amazing!

In the kitchen...My crock pot is working overtime! It's such a great time saver

I am wearing...My work clothes but I'm about to shower and put my jammies on.

I am creating...photography! I love taking pictures, especially things in nature.

I am going...nonstop. My work has picked up a lot. I'm thankful though because school is almost over

I am wondering... about Texas School? Will I be ready? Am I out of my league?

I am reading...the Bible, Chief Complaint Brain Tumor, and My boyfriend the Squire.

I am hoping...be able to sleep tonight. I haven't been sleeping well.

I am looking forward to...Texas School! A week long photography camp! :)

I am learning...it is what it is. Trust God.

Around the house... I need to do some serious Spring cleaning.

I am pondering...Will my mom have to have a metal rod put in her leg.

Friday Fragments 3-15-13

1. Spring break always goes by so fast. Monday is going to be a long day. Thankfully we are on the downhill slide of the school year. We just have to get through state testing coming up in April and then the countdown to summer can officially begin.
2. The weather has been amazing here in Southeast Texas this week. We usually don't have spring like weather. Our usual seasons consist of hot and hotter.  This week we've been blessed with cool mornings and pleasant afternoons.  I wish we could have this kind of weather all year!
3. With spring comes the return of my allergies. They always return with vengeance! I was given a bottle of local honey in hopes that taking a teaspoon of it every day will help my allergies.I hope it works because allergies stink!
4. My mom fell getting into my dad's truck the end of last week. She broke her tibia. The doctor said to come back in two weeks and if it doesn't heal properly they will have to put a metal rod in her leg. Please keep her and my dad in your prayers.
5. I've been helping a local photographer at her studio. It's been an amazing experience. I've learned a lot (and I have lots more that I still want to learn)
6. I helped with senior graduation picture sessions yesterday. I can't believe how young theses seniors are! Maybe it's just because I'm getting older! LOL :)
7. Speaking of graduation, my niece will be graduating from kindergarten this year! Just thinking thinking about it causes me to tear up. Time certainly does fly!
 Remember Sunday is St. Patrick's Day so wear green so you won't get pinched! I hope everyone has a safe, and happy weekend.

Spring is the season to.....ACHOOOOO!

I helped at a photo shoot in Houston today at Mercer Arboretum and boy and I paying for it now. I have water, itchy eyes, runny noes and a very sore throat. Everything blooming makes my allergies go a-wall. So I will not be writing much today. I'm going to focus on feeling better. Do you have allergies? If so what do you do to feel better?

Friday Fragments 11-8-2012

1. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes regarding my hand. Good news, I have my stitches out and I am able to use it again. I am continuing to wear the brace some to protect the wound from reopening. In case you are wondering what happened, I feel off a horse.  You can check out a picture of my hand here.

2. Wow we are only two weeks away from Thanksgiving! My how time flies! I'm not sure what our plans will be yet but rest assured I will make some wonderful gluten free goodies and share them with you. :)

3. I am also finally cleared to start working out again. I couldn't with my hand so injured. I am using our elliptical and well as my shapelygirl fitness dvd. Don't' forget it's not too late to enter my give away for a copy of Debra Mazda's Let's Get Moving 2 Cardio fitness with weights. The contest ends Sunday. You can enter here

4. A little over a month ago my husband decided to give me my Christmas present early. He bought me a Nikon D5100


I absolutely love it even though I'm still trying to figure out all the cool things it does!  I've loved to take pictures since I was a little girl. I've created a  facebook page to show case my work. Please check it out. I'd love to know what you think.

5. As we get ever closer to the holidays don't get bogged down by the "business" of the season. Remember to focus on those things that matter the most.

Pinterest

My friends have been after me for several weeks to check out Pinterest. Well finally I checked it out and I'm not sure what I think about it yet. For those of you who don't know what Pinterest is the website describes its self as "
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests."

Well I have been on it for a couple of weeks now and here are my observations. 

1. Love all the cool pictures and ideas!

2.. Great way for me to pick up blog post ideas. 

3. Like Facebook but with pictures. You can like a picture as well as, follow, unfollow, and comment

4. Total time waster for me. I could spend all day Oohing and Ahhing all the lovely pictures they have.

I am definitely going to stay with Pinterest. I love all the great pictures and ideas. However, I am going to have to limit my time on there to get anything done.
