It Is Well With My Soul

Late summer-early fall this year have been interesting to say the least so far. It first started when I got my annual blood work up from the Doctor. He changed some of my medication and then told me to come back in a month and we will see. Well, after getting home and goggling about elevated liver enzymes I was more than concerned about it. I mean it could cause any number of other health problems. I was surprised my doctor wasn't so complected about it. Well that's when I saw it. That people who have celiac disease (and not treating it) often have raised liver enzymes. Ah! I bet that is the problem!
The past several years I have noticed that when I ate bread; my body would do weird things. I would break out into a red rash on my neck, and on the backs of my arms I would have these little red blister looking things. The weird body issues have gradually gotten worse. To the point that if I eat fresh donuts I have to run to the restroom immediately because they make me puke. Not fun, Not fun at all!
So I self-diagnosed myself with celiac disease or at least celiac intolerance (for more information on celiac diseases check out this link:
Now normally I do not advocate self diagnosing your self with anything. But but be diagnosed with celiac disease involves a lot of test and stinking a camera in your intestine. If I know my body is doing weird things when I eat anything with gluten then why do I have to do the test!
Anyway, I started feeling better except for this pain in my lower pelvis. At first I thought it was because I had pulled something while I was at the gym. But the pain kept getting worse. Well, by then a month had past and it was time to head back to the Dr. and check my liver enzymes. Good thing too! Because the day before I was to go back to the doctor I started getting sharp pains in my pelvis. I was so scared I didn't know what it was. When this happened the first thing that poped into my head was the hymn "It is Well with my Sou" and instantly I knew that things were gonna be ok. Well it turns out that I had a cyst on one of my ovaries the size of a golf ball! No wonder I was hurting. The Doctor says that my birth control med such make it shrink. If not he might have to do surgery. I am just trying to give my concern about it and a lot of other things over to Him. I've found singing "It is well With my Soul" definitely helps. I don't how many have ever heard this song but it has beautiful lyrics accompanied by beautiful music so I am positing it below. Enjoy!

It Well with My Soul by Horatio G.Spafford

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
