Time! Time! Whos got the time?!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope this post finds you all well. It's been an interesting week for me. I just started a new job. I am working in a special needs classroom for the rest of the year. Its been a good but challenging week.  Now more than ever I see the need for good time management skills.
Do you have any time management tips that help you get things done? If so, I'd love to hear them.

I've been having issues with people commenting on my blog. You can also comment on my Facebook page as well https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carols-Corner/219400828101427

Tales of the Defended Ones by Beth Guckenberger

I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations. I am a part of Litfuse Publicity Group.
About the Book:
Ben and Joseph lose their mothers, but find a family looking just for them. Antonio is rescued from what seems like a hopeless situation. Caitlyn dares to trust that truth will set her free. Jorani is delivered from slavery into the arms of grace.
Follow these real-life stories as they take you on a journey to foreign places and extreme struggles. Travel through their challenges and see the hand of the great Storyweaver - our Defender God shielding and defending the defenseless in the Aamazing ways only he can. These are the tales of the ones left wounded and weak-ones made whole and strong . . .

My thoughts:
I love the way the book talks about God being a Storyweaver.  "He knows exactly what is happening, to everyone, everywhere-and for every why he holds the answer."  This concept has transformed my way of thinking! Beth proves that God is the Storyweaver throughout this book. She tells about stories of children around the world and how God has defended them. The book also spurs us to action calling for us to defend them too (see Proverbs 31:8-9). This book will change the way you see the world.

Book Review: Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist

I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations. I am a part of Handlebar Publishing.

About the Book:
As a follow up to her two-bestselling books, Bittersweet and Cold Tangerines, author and blogger Shauna Niequist returns with the perfect read for those who love food and value the community and connection of family and friends around the table.

Bread & Wine is a collection of essays about family relationships, friendships, and the meals that bring us together. This mix of Anne Lamott and Barefoot Contessa is a funny, honest, and vulnerable spiritual memoir. Bread & Wine is a celebration of food shared, reminding readers of the joy found in a life around the table. It's about the ways God teaches and nourishes people as they nourish the people around them. It's about hunger, both physical and otherwise, and the connections between the two.

With wonderful recipes included, from Bacon-Wrapped Dates to Mango Chicken Curry to Blueberry Crisp, readers will be able to recreate the comforting and satisfying meals that come to life in Bread & Wine

My Thoughts about the Book
This book was a delight to read. It was the perfect combination of two of my favorite things; cooking and writing. Shauna writes about relationships and how food and eating around the table helps to strengthen and enhance these relationships. I love how Shauna is open and honest about her journey. I felt like I was there with her throughout the book whether it was when she was learning how to cook or when she talks about her struggles with infertility.  I love how she ties each chapter around a theme and ties in a recipe with the theme. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves family, friends and food!
