Book Review: New Wings a Novel by Donna Stanley

I am reviewing this book for GlassRoad Public Relations  for honest review. and received no compensation for a favorable review.

About the Book:
Olivia Stanton always knew that the Bible says guardian angels exist. But, in all her seventeen years, she assumed they only showed up when people were dying or needed rescue from sudden disaster. Her assumption is shattered with the appearance of her own guardian angel - in the form of good-looking Mike, no less. As Olivia gets to know Mike, more and more of her misconceptions about the spiritual realms are revealed. And, as her spiritual eyes are opened to the presence of angels all around, she'll find they can be good or evil.

My thoughts about the book:
This book will change the way you think! It opens your eyes to spiritual warfare and helps you to become more aware things going on around you. This book shows people how prayers impact the spiritual world in ways we can't see or imagine. This book is riveting once you start reading it you will not be able to put it down. This novel is geared toward young adults as an alternative to books about vampires, werewolves, witches and demons. The novel does a great job of dealing with the paranormal genre in a positive manner. This book is a great read with an engaging story and interesting characters.

About the Author:
Donna Stanley lives in the beautiful Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania with her husband, Jonathan, and their teenage daughter, Olivia. She attended Philadelphia Biblical University, Moody Bible Institute, and Mansfield University, where she studied angelology, demonology, and the anthropology of religion. She was a youth leader for ten years and a pastor's wife for sixteen years. She now serves as a young adult mentor and leader in her local church.

Treasury of Healthy Living Book Review

Treasures of Healthy Living by Annette Reeder and Dr. Richard Couey

About the Book:
Did you know you can find the answer to many healthy problems in the pages of Scripture? Think of God's Word as a treasure map that leads straight to the healthy life you've always dreamed of. It reveals how you can move from a sickly, lackluster life to one that is full of energy and hope. This practical Bible Study will reveal the truth about the foods you eat and provide simple tools to begin improving your physical, emotional and spiritual health. You won't believe how much your life can change when you grab hold of the treasures God has provided for you.

My Review:
I have to admit that when I recived this book I thought that it would be another "diet" book. I coudn't have been more wrong! This book deals with every part of your life and gives you the biblicial view of healthy living. I found this book to be very do-able. Each week broken down into daily segments with scriptural and pratical applications. The book is part of series and it's not really possible to do the study without the other two books (for more information on the books click here). I wish the three books could have been combined for practicality as well as affordability. Even without the companion books I think this book does any excellent job of teaching healthy living from a biblical perspective.

The Authors:
Annette Reeder will lead you on this journey to biblical health-a journey she knows all too well, as her own family once traveled this same path to discover God's treasures. Annette is a biblical nutrition consultant and the founder of Designed Healthy Living, a consulting program that teaches individuals how to follow a biblical nutrition plan. She is also living, breathing, happy and healthy example of what a person can become when they find the Treasures of Healthy Living

Dr. Richard "Dick" Couey- Professor Emeritus of Health Sciences at Baylor University. Dr. Couey has spent nearly fifty years studying the physiology of the cell. He has especially studied how nutrition, exercise and stress affect the cell's biochemistry and physiology. Dr. Couey's students praise how Dr. Couey can make the complexities of the cell seem understandable.

Book Review: Anniversary Waltz by Darrel Nelson

The Anniversary Waltz: A novelAbout the Book:
It’s the summer of 1946, and Adam has just returned from the war to his home in Reunion, Montana. At a town festival he meets Elizabeth Baxter, a young woman going steady with his former high school rival and now influential banker, Nathan Roberts.

When Adam and Elizabeth share a waltz in a deserted pavilion one evening, their feelings begin to grow and they embark on a journey, and a dance, that will last a lifetime.

My Review:  I feel in love with this book the moment I read the back cover! It's such a delighful story about Adam and Elizabeth and the obsticles they must overcome. I laughed with the characters and cried with them too. I love the nostaliga of the book taking us back to a simpler time. Once I started reading the book I could not put it down. A must read for anyone who wants a heart warming romance!

Book Review: After All by Deborah Raney (A Hanover Falls Novel)

Eighteen months after the tragic Grove Street Fire took the life of her husband, David, and four other heroic firefighters, Susan Marlowe thinks she’s finally beginning to heal.
But then she discovers that David carried a secret to his grave.
A secret that changes everything she thought their marriage had been.
For the sake of their sons, can Susan forgive the unforgivable?
Andrea Morley lost her closest friend in the fire. But she has no right to mourn him. Instead, she must forever grieve in silence—because her dearest friend was someone else’s husband. Peter Brennan carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. As Hanover Falls’ fire chief, he was responsible for the brave firefighters
who lost their lives that awful November night.
Can he ever shake the feeling that he should have somehow prevented the tragedy?
As he tries to rebuild the team at Clemens County’s Station 2, it seems he might find comfort in the arms of the woman he least expected.

My Comments:
In the first two books, I thought that Susan Marlowe seemed to "perfect" To put together. In the final book in the Hanover Falls series we see that she is imperfect like the rest of us. This book does a wonderful job of reminding us all that our lives are messy.  That one person we can truly count on and put our trust in is God. I also like how the book shows how unforgiveness can affect people. When it's dealt with and when it's not. Of all the books in the Hanover Falls, After All is my favorite.
