Carol, I was trying to email you in response to the comment you left at Alamo North, but when I click on your email on your blog homepage, it sends the email to The Retro Housewife!
Anyway, what I was going to tell you was:
Don't plant bluebonnets, it's too late this year. After they bloom, if you'll remind me, I'll send you some seed and remind you when to plant them in the fall. I am 30 minutes south of Dallas in zone 8a and I plant mine the last of September.
If you've never had a garden, by all means try it. Go to the garden center and tell them you need something easy to start with, they should be able to suggest relatively easy plants to get you started!
