Book Review: Allon Book 2-Insurretion

I am reviewing this book for Allon Books. No additional compensation was received.

About The Book:
The Dark Way defeated, King Ellis starts restoring the House of Tristan. To him and Shannan, a son and heir is born, Prince Nigel. But not all is blissful in Allon. Kell, Captian of the immortal Guardians, never found Dagar's original talisman, the one the Master of the Dark Way infused with his evil.

Sinister tensions erupts into rebellion. Sir Owain, who Ellis pardoned for aiding the dethroned King Marcellus, leads the uprising. But Owain isn't trained in the Dark Way so how could he possess Dagar's talisman?

Ellis leads his army to quell the insurrection before it can erupt into civil war. his departure places the lives of Shannan and Nigel in jeopardy. If he returns to help them, he could loose his kingdom. If he continues against the enemy, he could lose his wife and son. He must trust their survival to the Guardian warrior, Avatar, and two teenage brothers, Wess and Bosley. What will these nephews of King Marcellus do? will they aid the House of Tristan or join Owain's insurrection and claim their birthright?

Allon -Book2- Insurrection is the next exciting tale in the epic saga fof the Kingdom of Allon.

My Review
I loved the first book in the Allon series and the book two doesn't disappoint. The book takes place four years after the first book. We're are always changing and this book deals with that. It also talks about how forgiveness can set you free from the past or how unforgiveness can leave you in bondage to you past. This bondage only leads to bitterness and regret. I really enjoyed how the story integrates action as well as faith. Once I got started reading the book I couldn't put it down. With a rich story and wonderful morals it's a great read for the young or young at heart.

The Author
Shawn Lamb lives in Antioch, Tennessee, just outside Nashville with her husband of nearly 25 years and their college age daughter, Briana. Shawn pursued her love of writing and took it to a professional level, writing for the 1980s  animated series "BRAVESTAR". Along the way, she won several screenwriting awards, including a Certificate of Merit from the American Screenwriters Association.

Taking the skills of writing for television along with experience of working with kids and teens, she began work on the series Allon. The results are stories of faith to believe and overcome obstacles, commitment to a cause, and the endurance to see it through to the end.
