P is for Pet Peeves and Prayer
Do you have those things that get on your nerves? I mean really get on your nerves-like waving a red flag in front of you? I do and I thought I share a few of them in no particular order. They ALL get on my nerves!
1. Communion Hoppers. I don't know if that is the correct name for this group of people but that is what I call them. Communion Hoppers are people who do not come for church they solely come for communion. They manage to wait until the last possible second to come in and they make a ton of noise. They like to be the first in line for communion and as soon as it's over they leave.
2. Tailgaters. Let me start this peeve with a disclaimer. I know there is hope for you tailgaters out there because I used to be one. Now for my ranting. We are headed in the same direction why do you have to ride my butt. Is it because you think you are in a bigger hurry than I am? If that's the case-go around! I am going as fast as I feel I can with in the confines of the law or traffic. You driving right behind me makes me drive slower! How did I get over my tail gaitting? By planning ahead and leaving on time! So I don't have to rush and ride someones butt!
3. Lack of Manners. I know we are in a busy fast paced society but how long does it take to have a few manners. Please and Thank You go a long way. If we are to busy for kindness we are too busy!
Do you guys have any pet peeves?
With all my Pet Peeves I need prayers and to pray. Prayer is something that God has really laid on my heart lately. I still don't pray as much as I should but I am getting there. I am super excited about a prayer group that is starting at our church. I think we have gotten so busy that we don't have time to pray like we should. I think it's part of Satan's plan to distract us and keep our minds off of what we should be doing.
Ladies I also wanted to share with you that Hallee The Home make is starting a bible study on May 1. The bible study will be over The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie OMartian. You can find more information about the bible study here. I'm excited about being a part of it.

I just did "The Power of a Praying Woman" back in the fall. You will enjoy it!
Carol, you will love 'The Power of a Praying Wife'...I've read some of her other books too, she's wonderful! Have fun with it.
Also, you should check out 'Too Busy Not to Pray', because that's actually how busy we are.
I do have pet peeves, tail gaters are one of them and they make me slow down too. My other big one is people who interrupt others while they are talking. Of course, it really bothers me when I am interrupted, but it goes across the board, even if I'm not in the conversation. I just think it's so rude!
God bless your day!
A few pet peeves I have is (1) people who sit around all day then moan because they're bored. There's a world out there they ought to rejoin it.
(2) Those who have cell phones and always have it on voicemail service. My daughter does this and shouldI need her urgently it's most difficult to reach her.
By and large I let people live and let live , I expect I do things that others don't like so I shouldn't really moan about others.
Have a lovely day.
Yvonne.
I have a couple of pet peeves. I hate to be late and am married to a chronically late. I am learning to pray my way through the waiting.
I really don't like people that wait until the last minute to merge and then cut across two lanes of traffic right in front of you. As a mom who frequently drives her kids...I don't appreciate the danger.
My pet peeves is tardiness and people talking on cell phones when they should be provided customer service.
I have three pet peeves:
1) I hate gum - people can rarely chew it quietly, politely
2) I hate the little yellow postie note stickers - imporant info is constantly lost becasue they don't stick
3) staples - they don't copy well and they are hard on fax machines
You are right prayer is the antidote to pet peeves! Love your post.
I have more pet peeves than I like to admit. :) Tailgaters are one of them, many others involve my husbands idiosyncrasies (I'm sure we all have those!), and quite a few involve grammar. Yes, I am apparently a grammar nerd. I need to do more praying as well. I am definitely interested in The Power of a Praying Wife study. I read the book with a bible study group years ago but it is time for a re-read. I actually picked it up a few weeks ago to start reading again... but apparently I need some accountability since I only got through a couple of chapters. Thanks for posting information about it!
Let's see, pet peeves...hmmmm, one thing is the people who have trouble spelling simple words and using words that sound alike but are spelled differently, like "here" for "hear", etc. I know that seems nitpicky, but I am often finding errors when I read books, and think that authors should know better. I would love to have a job reading manuscripts so that I could catch those mistakes before they make it to the publishers.

Grammy, my husband does that... and it drives me nuts...I try not to hold it against him. :-D
I never had any experience with communion hoppers. Tail Gaiters drive me crazy or young speed racers who weave through traffic. We have this new law in California that we can't talk on the phone or text on the phone while driving. It was passed over a year ago... people still do it... I get irritated when I drive by someone talking on their phone or texting when they should be focusing on the road. :-/
Thank you so much for spreading the word! I am excited that you'll be joining us!
Hallee
